Our school marked the beginning of the new academic year with a meaningful Opening Ceremony centered on the theme of Responsibility.

The Principal introduced the theme of Responsibility with a Chinese motto, reminding us that responsibility is universal across time and culture. Drawing on examples from Zhuge Liang in ancient China to modern figures such as Haaland, who donated his long hair to cancer patients, the Principal emphasized that true responsibility means showing care for the community and starting with oneself. Students were encouraged to act responsibly in daily life – keeping the campus clean, fulfilling their roles, and living out the school’s value. This message was reinforced by a student collective pledge and a sharing session on study tips, highlighting the importance of commitment.

The School Supervisor emphasized the importance of knowing oneself, setting goals, finding motivation, and combining attitude with techniques. She reminded students to complete homework, revise regularly, and maintain good lifestyle habits. Teachers from major departments then presented their work and upcoming activities, giving students a clear roadmap for the year. A highlight was the sharing by a Secondary Five student, who shared her three‑day hotel internship. Her workplace experience illustrated how responsibility and discipline apply beyond school, inspiring peers to connect learning with real‑life practice.

Together, the two‑day Opening Ceremony provided a strong foundation: responsibility as the guiding principle, and effective learning skills as the practical path. With unity and determination, our students are ready to embrace challenges, contribute to the school community, and grow into responsible citizens.
