“WEDO Global” Tsim Sha Tsui Discovery Tour to South Asians Community
On 12/12, all NCS students from our school went to Tsim Sha Tsui with a companion from the same form. After a briefing on the outline of the trip, we split into two groups and commenced with the temporary market in Tsim Sha Tsui. The market is known for its Halal meat which is ideal for muslims.
Then, we went to the well-known Kowloon Mosque in Tsim Sha Tsui. The majestic building is conveniently located, allowing believers and visitors alike to come and learn about the Islamic beliefs.
After that, we went to Mirador Mansion which is famous for its tailor shops. The tailor businesses are unique and successful as they are a result of cooperation between Chinese and Indians.
Lastly, we admired the magnificent The Peninsula Hotel and learned that its owners allowed the refugees of the Second World War to stay in the hotel. It was a shocking reveil! Not only did we learn more about each other, both sides also enriched their knowledge about the diverse cultures in Hong Kong. It certainly helped us achieve the goal of the activity.
