Review of Chung Ying Theatre Company’s Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville
Sherlock Holmes Mystery series are legendary detective stories for me. I have watched some adapted versions of Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville in the past. Many of them were usually mysterious and weird. I had to mostly focus on working out what was happening. However, Chung Ying Theatre Company’s performance made me pay a lot of attention to their stage setting and acting but not the story. Everything flowed perfectly and there were no mistakes.

This show gave me a totally different Sherlock Holmes story which I haven’t seen from other versions. The show was a comedy stage show, the connection between the performance and the actors was amazing. The way they interpreted the scene was shocking and unpredictable. In addition to the marvellous and hilarious acting of the performers, the show really hit the spot.

One of the highlights in the show was that multiple characters were only played by three actors, three actors played 35 characters, what a good job! The biggest point that is worth appreciating results from the natural and brilliant acting for changing the characters one by one with no confusion. Therefore it made the show so impressive.

To sum up, Chung Ying Theatre Company’s Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville was very extraordinary and it may be the most wonderful stage show I have seen lately.
