Pedaling Hope – Online Pilgrimage Journey: Inter-House E-Sports Cycling Competition
The "Pedaling Hope – Online Pilgrimage Journey" Inter-House E-Sports Cycling Competition was successfully held in the school hall during lunchtime on May 26, 2026. Integrating the three distinct disciplines of STEAM, Physical Education, and Religious Studies, the event utilized an advanced e-sports cycling system that seamlessly combined traditional cycling with virtual track simulation technology.
Through real-time data displayed on screens, participating students monitored their cycling speed and power output, experiencing firsthand how technology empowers modern sports—a vivid, practical demonstration of STEAM education.
Setting itself apart from standard e-sports tournaments, this competition featured the Vatican as the ultimate pilgrimage destination and incorporated unique interactive elements. For every 500 meters a student cycled, the system automatically displayed a religious trivia pop-up. This allowed both competitors and spectators to enrich their religious knowledge while breaking a sweat, beautifully embodying the concept of "learning through sports." As Scripture reminds us:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race." (2 Timothy 4:7)
Following multiple rounds of intense competition, the house team members demonstrated outstanding teamwork and exemplary sportsmanship. The event successfully broke down traditional disciplinary boundaries, offering students a wonderful opportunity to exercise their bodies and connect with the core values of their faith during a fun and relaxing lunchtime.
