6th February |

| At the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, we are thankful that you have granted us health and strength for a new start. This is a precious moment for us to start over again. On 5th February, 2012, a 26-year-old male runner collapsed and later died in hospital after competing in the half-marathon race. This tragedy has raised an alarm over the cityˇ¦s biggest participatory sporting event. It is suggested that more safety measures should be taken for the event. However, there is always a potential risk in taking part in any sporting event and any participant has to take responsibility for their own preparation and health before they start the race. The event has also reminded us of the importance of family and friends. Life is sometimes trivial and we canˇ¦t control the length of our lives. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. Therefore, we should treasure what we have and live life to the fullest. Plan out your life so that you can achieve what you want to achieve before it is too late. Lord, we pray that we can have a hopeful spirit to overcome sorrow and have a strong body to achieve our goals and follow our dreams. May you guide us to appreciate the opportunity of being educated so that we can live our lives with your presence. Lord, hear our Prayer! |
