Dear Lord,

Recently, torrential rains have battered south and central China. Hundreds were killed, and 1.7 million people were forced to evacuate. We pray that these disasters will soon end. Lord, you created a universe of harmony and beauty, but we keep on damaging it. We know that floods and earthquakes are natural disasters but we have worsened their effects by polluting and recklessly consuming, our natural resources. Please help us to learn respect for all the gifts you have given us. Teach us to conserve, protect and nurture the environment.

Lord, as the school year is coming to an end, we feel very grateful that you have guided us to a very fruitful and meaningful year. As we are looking forward to enjoying ourselves during the holidays, help us improve ourselves at the same time by reading extensively, taking part in summer activities, spending time meaningfully with our families and serving people in need.

Lord, hear our prayer.!
