The Catholic Society organized a visit to the elderly on 21st February, 2009. The aim of this visit was to encourage our students to show respect and care towards our senior citizens.
Various activities were organized on that day. First, our students led the elderly to do a fitness exercise as a warm-up. This helped them practise some simple and easy steps to stay healthy. Then, there was a fun miming game in which everyone participated enthusiastically. The activity involved using body language and gestures to give hints about several topics, so that the audience could make guesses.
After enjoying so much excitement, everyone had a quiet moment in the next session, watching the handicraft demonstration by our students. The elderly followed the steps to make their own beautiful works. It was delightful to see the sense of satisfaction achieved.
The highlight of the event was the sharing between our students and the elderly. It was a precious opportunity for the different generations to exchange views and ideas. Towards the end of the day, souvenirs were distributed as a way to show our appreciation and love.
