Visit to Chinese Cuisine Training Institute
Forty-two form four students visited the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute (CCTI) in Pokfulam on 24^th January 2008. It was the Open Day of the institute. CCTI is a vocational training school which provides courses and training on Chinese cuisine and local tourism. The students of CCTI gave us a tour of the school. We first attended a talk and then visited different parts of the school, including a kitchen, a restaurant, a hotel guest room and multimedia language learning centre. The CCTI students were courteous in showing us the school. They demonstrated their knowledge in catering and hotel services, for example how to make the Chinese hand-pulled noodles, fruit carvings and how to serve in restaurants and hotels. At the same time, our students learnt a lot of new things and even had a chance to try some skills they had just learnt on that day, like folding handkerchiefs and making the fruit decorations. As a result of this visit our students have surely broadened their horizons.
