14th May 2007

Dear Lord,

We had Labour Day on the first of May. Many people went on the street and demonstrated for their labour rights. In Macau, there was a march by thousands of workers and the police fired shots in the air and beat protestors back with batons. The cause of the march was the corruption of the government and a lack of jobs.

Lord, please bring warmth and care to those people who got injured or felt angry in the march. We hope that they can recover soon and work together for a better society.

Lord, thank you for giving us a stable society in Hong Kong. Please help us to understand that the Hong Kong government is leading us well and giving us good prospects for the future. Dear Lord, please also remind us to express our feelings positively and appropriately when we face some unfairness or arguments. Let us work together to create a harmonious environment.

At the same time, Lord, we would like to pray for the people who may live poorly because they cannot find jobs. We wish them wisdom and bravery to overcome the difficulties they have.

The Month of May is the Month of Mary. We would like to ask Mary, the Mother of Jesus, to pray for world peace so that Jesus may grant love and care to this world.

Lord, hear our prayer!
