12th March 2007 Dear Lord, Premier Wen Jiaboa gave the policy speech for China last week. He promised to give greater support to education and health care in China, particularly for poor rural residents. His aim is to improve people's livelihood and increase the number of people who can get proper schooling. Lord, we would like to give thanks to You because we are the blessed ones who can enjoy free 9-year compulsory education in Hong Kong. All of us have the chance to receive an education and enjoy school life. Yet, we may take it for granted. Please teach us to treasure our chance to learn, and to study hard. God, we would like to pray for the poor children in China too, please send your blessings to them. Give them good health and strength. Last week, more than 39,000 runners took part in the Hong Kong Chartered Marathon. It is one of the biggest outdoor sporting events in Hong Kong. Many of the world's top runners came to Hong Kong to take part in this event. Yet, many runners got hurt and were sent to hospital. God, please send your blessing to them and may they recover soon. We know that it is good to take part in sports events, yet, safety is also important when we are having fun. Please remind us that safety should come first in any events. God, the F.5 mock exam has been running since last week and we will have the second term exam this Wednesday. We would like to pray for the F.5 students and ourselves, to have good health and strength in the exam period. Please guide us in revising our work effectively and using the time we have wisely. Lord, hear our prayer!
