Dear Lord,

We had a public holiday yesterday for Chung Yeung Festival. It was a time for us to show our respect for our ancestors, relatives or friends who have died. These people had a close connection with us and played an important role in our lives. May God have mercy on their souls and let them enjoy heavenly glory. While remembering them, we also need to pay attention to the people around us. They might be our parents, brothers and sisters, teachers, classmates or friends. Let us treasure every valuable moment we have with them. There might be times when disagreements arise. Let us learn how to respect other people’s ideas and show love to one another.

November is the Month of the Holy Souls. We would like to devote our prayers to them this month. May God purify their souls completely and help them attain heaven as soon as possible.

On a sad note, state leader Mr Fok Ying-tung died on Saturday night in Beijing. He made an enormous contribution to the mainland and Hong Kong. We would like to specially pray for him today. May God have mercy on his soul and accept him into heaven.
