Installation of Mosquito Trap

For the health of our students, the school has recently installed a mosquito trap equipped with attractant (carbon dioxide and octenol) in an effort to prevent dengue fever. An anti-mosquito team was set up last year to enhance the mosquito control work. The staff from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department visits the school on a regular basis to inspect the school premises and possible mosquito breeding grounds nearby. Larvicidal oil was also applied. It was found, in their last visit, that there was no breeding source around. Whereas the school will continue to provide a hygienic environment for study, students will need to co-operate in keeping the school and their classrooms clean. Please pay particular attention to personal hygiene and apply insect repellent, where necessary, when having outdoor activities to avoid mosquito bites. We need to work hand in hand in the prevention of dengue fever.
