Our school joined the two-year (2004/5 – 2005/6) Seed Project (Affective Education) run by the EMB Gifted Education Section Curriculum Development Institute last year. A group of Form 3 students (Form 2 last year) were selected to participate in the programme. I am happy to report that they have completed all the training activities. One of the activities, which they have just finished, was a film production project organized by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Tai Kok Tsui Integrated Services Centre, the purpose of which was to stimulate their creativity and develop their critical thinking. Students were also engaged in doing community service through visiting Caritas Workshop for the Mentally Retarded. This helped raise their civic-mindedness and empathy. Another project was an outdoor exploration activity to foster team spirit, raise confidence and develop communication skills. The students learned a great deal from this two-year project.
