The second Staff Development Day was held on 12 November 2004.The theme of the day was `Implementing the New Senior Academic Structure.’ Teachers were divided into five groups according to the subjects they are teaching: English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics and Science, Social Studies and Cultural Subjects. In the first session, teachers discussed the objectives of the suggested syllabuses and the difficulties they would face when implementing the new curriculum. The second session was a reporting session during which teachers expressed their opinions on the changes and the impact the new structure would bring to the education system. It was agreed that further discussions would be arranged to plan our way forward. Meanwhile, teachers would attend seminars and training courses to prepare ourselves for the successful implementation of the new structure.
